Depending on your group's policies, your entire family might even be covered, which is more cost efficient. Some companies offer health insurance to their employees as well, including their families. Obviously, this is not possible for everyone.

For your auto insurance, keep your driving record clean and spotless as this is a sure way to be considered a low risk person. Add to that the installation of anti theft and safety devices. For health insurance, not smoking or losing weight considerably increases your chances of finding affordable insurance. As for your home insurance – do you have fire and smoke alarms installed, and anti-burglar devices?
Custom-make – You have unique protection needs, so you will have to tailor-fit your affordable insurance policy to these needs. Insurance companies put a lot of add-ons into their insurance policies, some of which you may not need at all. Go over the features of your insurance policy and see if you are getting the protection that you and your family need while taking into consideration what you can afford to pay. Another way to get affordable insurance rates is to have a higher deductible, which means lower premiums. Of course, you will have to consider the fact that when you need to make a claim, you will have more to pay, so it might not be worth it.
Remember that affordable insurance doesn't necessarily mean “bare-bones coverage”. It means getting the right coverage for the price that you can afford.
